Donald Hurst, 79, of Sikeston, died Thursday July 26, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 15, 1933 in Mercer County, Kentucky to the late Brack and Mayme (Hendren) Hurst. He received a B.S. degree in agriculture from the University of Kentucky and was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel and was a member and former deacon of the Church of Christ. He had lived in the Sikeston area for over 30 years and been employed as a broker in trucking and was employed and retired from Mid-Town Motors in Sikeston.
On May 28, 1983 he was married to Nancy C. (Parr) Chappell in Sikeston, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters & 1 son-in-law Becky & Roland Frias and Cindy Chappell of Sikeston; 4 sons, David Hurst, Jimmy Hurst, Jerry Hurst and Donnie Hurst all of Springfield, KY and by 1 brother, Kenneth Hurst of Lexington, KY. Three grandchildren, Matt Frias, Blake Hedge, & Lindsay & Glen Fowler also survive.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 pm Monday, July 30, until time for services at 7:30 pm with Rev. Len Meyers, Pastor of Trinity Gospel Church officiating.
