Obituary

DONALD RAY SMITH, age 68, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his residence in Wyatt.

He was born October 9, 1945 in Cairo, IL to the late William Junior and Marjorie Louise "Trixie" Magee Smith. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life where he worked as a farm mechanic and owned his own small engine repair business and was of Baptist faith.

On May 29, 1965 he married Nora Mae Pace who preceded him in death on June 15, 1999. On April 19, 2003 he married Pauline Coomer who survives of the home.

Also surviving are three sons, Donald Ray Smith II of Tombstone, AZ, Steve Upchurch of Perryville, and Billy Upchurch of Jackson; four daughters, Marjorie Trotter and Laura Sue Smith both of the state of South Carolina, Melissa Kay Smith of Circle City, and Debbie Welker of Perryville; two brothers, James (Betty) Smith and Roy (Barbara) Smith all of Charleston; two sisters, Becky Manning of Bethalto, IL and Cathy Allred of Sikeston; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; also his step mother, Chattie Johnson Smith of Sikeston.

One daughter, Betty Dodd, and one grandson, Shawn Hurt, and one brother, Robert Smith, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014. Buddy Hannah, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Upchurch, Terry Clifton, Jordy Hileman, R.J. Smith, Jeremy Smith, Carl Welch, Ray Crisel and Jimmy Smith.
