Donna Faye Evans Forbey, age 76, of Bloomfield, MO, died Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Mercy-Southeast Hospital in Dexter, MO.
Born April 8, 1949, to the late William Norton “Dude” Evans and Lois Lovella Frix Evans, Donna grew up in East Prairie and attended East Prairie Schools. When living in East Prairie, she attended the First Christian Church. She and Jim would make their home in Bloomfield in the late 1970’s where they remained until their deaths.
On October 21, 1966, she married the love of her life, James Douglas “Jim” Forbey, and celebrated almost 60 years together. Jim preceded her in death on December 16, 2025.
Donna was an artist and loved to paint, do ceramics and cake decorating, as well as creative writing and poetry. Education was important to Donna and she would go on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She would then spend many years working for the State of Missouri and finished her career as an educator for the G.E.D. program.
Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Lynn Davis, Kimberly Dawn (Dale) Jackson, Lori Lea (Shannon) England and Charity Faith (Bryan) Edmonds; her grandchildren, Courtney, Evan, Gabe, Lizzie, J.R. and Miranda; her great grandchildren, Tyson, Jaelynn, Carter, Finley and Laney; her sister, Netta Stevens; her brother, William “Billy” Evans, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Evans, her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Frank King, and her niece and her husband, Ashley and Mike Adams.
Friends may assemble for graveside services at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston. Greg Stevens of Dexter will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
