DONNA JEAN STARKS MOTT, Age 72, a resident of Miner, MO, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 18, 1940, in Cherokee County, Texas, to the late W.M. Griffith and Ila Inez McNaughten Griffith Batchelor, she had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life and held BS degree in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University School of Nursing in Cape Girardeau. For over 50 years she had worked as a Registered Nurse at a number of medical facilities including the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Charleston Manor, Heritage Gardens in Sikeston and the Bertrand Nursing Center and had taught CNA Nursing Classes. She was a member of the Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sikeston.
In 1987, she married Paul David Mott, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is: four sons, Jimmy Starks of Arizona, Ray Elliott Starks of Poplar Bluff, Joseph Martin Starks of Sikeston and Charles Starks of Fredericktown; one daughter, Geneva Starks of Boiling Springs, SC; one brother, Jerry Griffith of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Glenda Moss of Eddy, TX; one step brother, Martin Batchelor, Jr. of The Villages, FL; 5grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, A.J. Starks and her stepfather, Martin Batchelor, Sr.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Dr. Tom Bass, retired Presbyterian Minister, of Cape Girardeau, will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Unity Cemetery near Benton under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Chuck Allred, Bird Melacon, Rodney Manning, Frankie Torrance, Chad Ledbetter, Brandon Manning.
