Doris Housman Mitchell, age 86, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born September 19, 1935, in the Deventer Community of Mississippi County, MO, to the late Oscar "Pap" Housman and Alberta "Bertie" Kinney Housman, she grew up in rural Mississippi County.  She then moved to North Carolina where she lived a number of years before returning to Charleston.  She the moved to Sikeston a number of years ago to be near her children.

She was first married to Linwood Mitchell who preceded her in death.  She then married Martin Michael Stash, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Beverly) Stash of Sikeston; Terry (Renee) Mitchell of Morley; Linwood Mitchel of Cape Girardeau and Mary "B.J." Wren of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; also surviving are her brother and sisters, Louie Housman, Evelyn Hamm, Nelda Jones and Elsie Housman, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to both husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Patty Schneider and Debbie Stash; and her brothers and sisters, James Housman, Eugene Housman, Betty Rankin and Ida Mae Gonzalez.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
