Doris Marie McClain Scott, age 76, of Sikeston, MO, died Sunday, November 24, 2024, at her home in rural Sikeston, Mo.

Born June 02, 1948, at Matthews, MO, to the late Wilmer Eli McClain and Velda Rae Finley McClain, she was a graduate of Matthews High School.  She had been a factory worker at a toy factory in Sikeston and later at International Shoe Company. She also sold insurance and was the owner of L&S Furniture and Treasures with her daughter LaGina.  Doris had a special gift of restoring things to their original beauty.  She loved all crafts, sewing, quilting, hunting, floral arranging and fishing with her husband.

On June 13, 2007, she married Edward F. Scott, who survives of the home.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughters, LaGina (Richard) Adams of Jackson, MO and Sharon (Chris) Padilla of Chillicothe, Illinois; her grandchildren, Brittany Woodard of Millersville, MO, Austin Russom of Jackson, MO, Bria (Nathan) Rodgers of Sikeston, MO, Alex Padilla of Chillicothe, IL, Zak Adams of Greenwood, IN and Kyle Padilla of Chillicothe, IL; two great grandchildren, Caden Woodard of Millersville, MO and Nolan Rodgers of Sikeston, MO; two brothers, Danny (Sharon) McClain of Malden, MO and Clarence (Linda) McClain and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Cox and Janice Burnes and two brothers Merlin Gibson and Ed McClain.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2024, where funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  J. T. Thomason, VNA Chaplain will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dearl Woodard, Nathan Rodgers, Austin Russom, Alex Padilla, Kyle Padilla and Caden Woodard.

Interment will follow at Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
