DOROTHY CATHERINE ROLWING, age 92, a resident of Charleston died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Charleston Manor.

She was born April 5, 1922 in Charleston to the late Joseph Louis and Ida Francis Wilhelm Halter. She had lived in Charleston her entire life where she was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and had been active in St. Henry Ladies Sodality and the Ave Maria Circle of Daughters of Isabella. She had also been a member of the Charleston V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Texas Bend Extension Club.

On February 25, 1946 she married Cornelius Paul Rolwing who preceded her in death on June 16, 2011.

Surviving are three sons, Dennis (Mary Ann) Rolwing of Cleveland, Donald (Brenda) Rolwing of Sikeston, Philip (Candy) Rolwing of East Prairie; three daughters, Linda (Ronnie) Estes and Deborah Rolwing all of Charleston and Karen (Omer) Clark of Bertrand; one son-in-law, David Seyer of Jackson; one sister, Marie Amrhein of Cape Girardeau; also 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one daughter, Jane Seyer; two grandsons, William Rolwing and Derek Estes; one great grandson, Noah Tyson; and one sister, Beatrice Stocking.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with Prayers recited at 7:30 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Monsignor Richard Rolwing of Cape Girardeau serving as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be Kyle Estes, Codi Rolwing, Jason Estes, Matthew Rolwing, Josh Stortz, and Josh Tyson.
