DUANE LEE WILMURTH, Age 58, died Sunday, August 20, 2017, at his home in Charleston.

Born May 14, 1959, at Topeka, Kansas, to the late Billy Woodrow Wilmurth and Albert Novola "Bert" Bowen Wilmurth, he was a retired United States Marine, having served over 21 years. He was a former member of the V.F.W. After his retirement from the military, he was employed in over the road commercial trucking.

On May 30, 1982, he married Janet Marie Palmer, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Wilmurth of Michigan and Duane Lee Wilmurth Jr. of Charleston; two daughters, Ashley Curtis of Wichita, KS and Christina Marie Wilmurth of St. Louis; one brother, Calvin (Terri K.) Wilmurth of Charleston; two grandchildren, Blane Richard Curtis and Avery Lynn Wilmurth; one nephew, Yoshiyuki Wilmurth and two nieces, Daisy Kay Wilmurth and Audrey Novola Wilmurth.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Ellis Wilmurth.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time for the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Jon Archie of Elm Street Baptist Church of Charleston, and Tim Wynne, will officiate.

Full military honors conducted by the United States Marines and the Missouri Military Honors Program will immediately follow at the funeral home chapel.

Cremation will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
