Dwain Pete Crutcher, 89, died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born January 30, 1930 in Ashdown, Ark. to the late Frank Lee and Jewell (Powell) Crutcher.
He was a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and had been a chemist with Reynolds Aluminum, Alamet Magnesium, and had been a Technical Superintendant at Noranda Aluminum and a Research Chemist at Delta Formost. He received his B.S. Degree and Post-Graduate Degree at Henderson State Teachers College and from the University of Arkansas. He had lived in Memphis, New Madrid, Alabama and Arkansas before moving to Sikeston in 2000; he was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
On November 29, 1957 he married Mary Lynn Leming in Malvern, Arkansas and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 1 daughter and son-in-law, Deann and Jim Stephens of Sikeston; 2 grandchildren, Lauren (Jake) Hardy and Dylan Stephens and 1 great-granddaughter, Leighton Hardy all of Sikeston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Frank Crutcher.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 pm Tuesday, May 21 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday with his pastor, Rev. George Rendleman officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 12 Noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield. Pallbearers will be Jim Gipson, Hunter Gipson, Gordon Waller and Larry Gregory.
