Obituary

DYRNELL LORETTE CAMPBELL, age 57, of Charleston, died Monday, September 25, 2023, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born October 21, 1965, in Charleston to the late William Fisher and Helen Campbell, Dyrnell was a lifelong resident of Charleston and a graduate of Charleston Schools.

Dyrnell was a beautiful soul who fought all of her life against various health issues.  She was a loving mother of two children, Kenny (Ashley) and Trease and a loving grandmother of two grandchildren who where her world, KJ and Keniya.

She faced a lot of health issues, but one thing she always did was keep her faith.  One of her favorite sayings was "If the Lord see to it, and don't nothing happen."

Dyrnell was a very loving person.  She was always willing to open her door to anyone who needed a place to stay, a bite to eat, or even just an ear to listen, she would be there.  If she had it, then you had it.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. They were with her has much as they were at home.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and talking on the phone checking on friends and family members, even while her own health was declining.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she leaves to cherish her memories her brothers, and sisters, Calvin (Edna) Campbell of New Madrid, Johnny Campbell of Charleston, Robert (Kathy) Campbell and Nathan Campbell all of Wilmington, NC, James (Gloria) Campbell of Norfolk, VA, Peggy (Charlie) Etheridge of Cleveland, OH, Brenda Fisher of Columbus, OH, Betty Ann Fisher, Narda Ellis Bates and Deneen Johnson all of Charleston, Retta Riggins of Sikeston and Geneva Parker of St. Louis.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Thelandthis Campbell, her sisters and brothers, Tina Campbell, Sylvia Campbell, Angie Campbell, Jimmy Campbell, Diane Fisher, William Fisher, Jr., Anthony Fisher and Patricia Fisher.

A devout Christian, Dyrnell worshipped with the congregation at Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Dunlap.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 926 South Elm Street, in Charleston.  Pastor Rodney Dunlap officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Horton, Kurtis Triplett, Calvin Campbell, Roger Triplett, Johnny Harris, Jr., and Chedowry Thomas, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be: KJ Campbell, Johnny Campbell, Robert Campbell, Nathan Campbell, James Campbell and Calvin Campbell, Sr.
