Earnest Milton Laymon, Sr., 73, a life-long resident of this area, died Saturday, Sept. 16 at his home in Bertrand.  He was born Jan. 25, 1944 in Canalou to the late Walter Monroe and Ruby May (Wren) Laymon.  He was a member of Living Waters Pentecostal Church in Sikeston and been a mechanic at Plaza Tire before his retirement.  On Dec. 28, 1962 he married Mary R. Reynolds in Canalou and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Earnest Laymon, Jr. of Bertrand and Kelly & Mitzi Laymon of Sikeston; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Jamie & Jeremy High of Dover, Ark; and 1 sister, Lois Crabtree of Beloit, Wisconsin.  Eight grandchildren also survive.  Two brothers and 4 sisters preceded him in death.  At his request, he has been cremated and no further services are planned at this time.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
