EJ MARKS, age 78, a resident of East Prairie, entered into his Heavenly home, Sunday, September 6, 2020.
Born May 30, 1942, at Tiptonville, TN, to the late Clarence and Cleeoria Motley Marks, he moved to East Prairie where he spent most of his life farming the land. He had also worked for the Mississippi County Sheriff Department and the Mississippi County Highway Department a number of years until his retirement.
On December 4, 1982 he married Louise Mansfield, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his daughters, Rhonda (Charlie) Marcum of East Prairie and Donna (Buck) Jones of Bossler City, LA; his sons, Keith (Barbara) Cook and Randy (Shari) Cook all of East Prairie; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Marks; three brothers, Authur Marks, Willie Marks, Malcolm Marks and four sisters, Gladys Burney, Wyvonne Wallace, Opal Sanders and Marie Jones.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie. Pastor Eric McGruder, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Devin Cook, Bryan Cook, Joshua Cook, Charles Rushing, Alvin Marcum and Alex Marcum.
