ELLEN M. BRUMLEY, 90, formerly of Wyatt, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born October 30, 1929, in rural Mississippi County, MO, to the late Tandy Burton Murphy and Gertrude Marie Vowels Murphy, she had lived in Wyatt most of her life where she was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. For a number of years has employed with the Missouri Department of Social Services as a caseworker in the East Prairie office. After the death of her husband, she moved to Sikeston and became a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She later moved to Bertrand.
On October 10, 1949, she married Ulyes C. Brumley, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2003.
Surviving is one son, Denny (Dianne) Brumley of Sikeston; two daughters, Teresa DeLong of Atlanta, GA and Kim Brumley Holland of rural Charleston; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; also, a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Barry Brumley; five brothers, Charles W. Murphy, Paul Murphy, Frank Murphy, Bill Murphy and Orville Murphy and one sister, Clara Marie Cope.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
