GEORGE "ELLIOTT" SIMMONS, Age 48, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his home in Marietta, GA.

Born December 15, 1967 in Sikeston, MO to the late George E. Simmons and Julie Lutz Simmons who survives in Scottsdale, AZ. He grew up in Charleston, MO and later attended High School in Vicksburg, MS at All Saints Episcopal Academy, graduating in 1987. He later studied at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Afterward he moved to Marietta, GA where he worked for SW Professional Vehicles in transportation and maintenance. He later became a Manager at GA Emissions in Marietta where he remained until his death. He was a loyal and generous friend and was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his sister Elizabeth Simmons (Scott) Lyon of Atlanta, GA, his niece and nephew George Edward Lyon and Margaret "Maggie" Elizabeth Lyon who loved their "Uncle E", as well as his step-mother Sue Shepard Simmons of Sikeston, MO.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Charleston at 9:00 a.m. where Memorial Service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Robb Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
