Estellalouise Knupp Gunter

August 12, 1929 — August 29, 2016

ESTELLA LOUISE KNUPP GUNTER, age 87, formerly of Mississippi County, died Monday, August 29, 2016, at the St. Sophia Health & Rehabilitation Center in Florissant.

She was born August 12, 1929 in Flint, MI to the late James Lewis McCann and Essie Mae Knupp. She moved to Mississippi County at an early age, lived in Wyatt and Anniston, was a graduate of Charleston High School, and a member of the Wyatt United Methodist Church.
After her marriage she was employed as a secretary with the US Army Engineering Depot briefly until her first son was born.

On April 3, 1949 she married Henry Edward Gunter who preceded her in death on January 22, 2001.

Surviving are two sons, Gary (Donna Weakley) Gunter and Alan Gunter both of Florissant;one granddaughter, Joyce (John) Parker; and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

The family would like to express great appreciation to St. Sophia Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care given to their mother.
