Obituary

Eva Mae Raymer Cossey, age 73, formerly of Wyatt, Mo., died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Matthews, Mo.

Born September 25, 1951, at Nortonville, KY, to the late Sammie Raymer and Margaret Justice Raymer, she had lived in Wyatt most of her life where she was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church.  Eva loved helping others and for many years was employed as a home health aide with the VNA and also volunteered at the Shining Light Outreach Center in Charleston, helping with the monthly food distributions.   She especially loved her family.

On August 29, 1971, she married Clifton Eugene Cossey, Jr., who preceded her in death, May 24, 2021.

Surviving are her children, Clifton Tracy (Amber) Cossey of Wyatt; Terry Ann (Mike Wareham) Cossey of Matthews; Joyce Marie Cossey of Wyatt and Dawnyelle (Wesley) Belt of Princeton, KY; her grandchildren, Lily LaCross, Christian LaCross, Nathan LaCross, Sarah (Marshall) Dozer, Houston (Julie) Housman, Jacob Cossey, Elizabeth (Josh) Wilhelm, Grace (Gage) Hawes and Olivia (Trevor) Hix; 16 great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Briar Housman, her brothers, Billy Raymer and Randy Raymer and her sister, Linda Raymer.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her daughter, Joyce Cossey, and Mike Wareham, Houston Housman, Jacob Cossey, Donnie Ray Skinner and Marshall Dozer.
