Eveleen Christine "Evie" West, age 81, died Sunday, August 1, 2021, at her home in Defiance, MO.

She was born May 20, 1940, at Leachville, AR, to the late George Frank and Lois Berneice Towell Swedholm. Evie lived in Defiance, MO for last years of her life. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting and cooking. Evie also ran Al's Western Liquor Store for 15 years in Crestwood, MO.

On March 31, 1982, she married Baylis Maurice West, on survives of the home.

Also surviving are her children, Kurt (Joanne) Goewert of Neosho, MO; Karl Goewert of Springfield, MO; Keith (Michelle) Goewert of St. Claire, MO; Karen Goewert of St. Claire, MO; Marla (Rich) Wolfmeier of House Springs, MO; Jeff (September) West of Texas; and Steven (Rhonda) West of Defiance, MO; one sister, Jackie (George) Wright of Defiance, MO; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Oneil Hansel Swedholm, Robert Oscar Swedholm and George Franklin Swedholm; and one sister, Jennie Lou Fitzjerrell.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow at the Sikeston City Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
