EVELYN JOHNSON MILLER, AGE 79, a resident of Diehlstadt, MO, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born February 16, 1931 at East Prairie, Missouri to the late Tom and Clara Hale Johnson, she had lived in Mississippi and Scott Counties her entire life and was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.
On February 2, 1949, she married Jasper William "J.W." Miller, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Laney Miller of Diehlstadt; two brothers, Ray Johnson of Painton, MO and J.W. Johnson of Kankakee, IL; two sisters, Wilhelma Burks of St. Louis and Barbara Ann Figliolo of Crystal City, MO; two granddaughters and one grandson in law, Carrie Miller Haynes and her husband David Haynes of Dexter, MO and Rachel Miller of Cape Girardeau;
Five great grandchildren, Hannah, Shelby and Madelyn Haynes and Connor and Caden Miller.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Tommy Johnson, Robert Johnson, Dee Johnson, David Johnson and J.T. Johnson and by one sister, Jeanette Johnson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Bro. Raymond Hannah of East Prairie and Bro. Dewayne Kirkpatrick, pastor of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: David Haynes, Cory Berry, Jasper Miller, Danny Gramlisch, Richard Oliphant and Jim McClain.
