Obituary

FAYE PRESSON SCHNEIDER FISHER, died Friday, February 4th at her home in East Prairie, MO.

Mrs. Fisher was born on March 7, 1919 to the late Ules and Myrtle Tanner Presson. Her husband George Howard Schneider preceded her in death on January 23, 1975. She later married Eugene Frederick Fisher of Memphis, TN who died on October 5, 2007 in East Prairie where they made their home after living in Memphis for twenty-three years.

She is survived by two beloved daughters, Marilyn Botkin and her husband Robert of Lexington, KY and Cherie Dodson and husband Burke of Charleston. She is also survived by a much beloved step-daughter, Donna Kay Fisher of Memphis. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jeffrey Botkin of Lexington, KY and Mary Carmen Amato and husband Robert of Frankfort, KY. Mrs. Fisher was fortunate to have three beloved great-grand-children, Robert Alexander, Mary Grace and Anna Catherine Amato of Frankfort, KY.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one brother L.B. Presson and one sister Natalia Sue Presson Mainord both of East Prairie.

Mrs. Fisher was a devoted member of the First Christian Church of East Prairie for more than sixty years. She served as organist and Sunday school teacher for twenty-five of those years. Among her many remembrances are gifts from families for whose weddings or funerals she was the organist. While living in Memphis, Mrs. Fisher was active in the Lindenwood Christian church where she served in leadership positions of the Christian Women's Fellowship.

In addition to her church service Mrs. Fisher participated in a variety of community projects. These included serving on the Mississippi County Library board and narrating many fashion shows presented by the Women's Improvement Club. She also participated as she was able in the restoration of the old East Prairie High School building and in the East Prairie Garden Club projects.

Mrs. Fisher's family gratefully acknowledges the devoted service of Christy Mayabb and Ginger McDermott among others who faithfully cared for her in her last years.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the First Christian Church in East Prairie from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour of 11:00 a.m. Robert Botkin, Mrs. Fisher's son in law, will officiate assisted by Rev. Larry Lane, pastor of the First Christian Church.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the First Christian Church of East Prairie and the East Prairie Community Beautification Project.
