Fleeta May Coffer Duke, age 71, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Mississippi County, MO, died Monday, January 1, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO.
Fleeta was born December 11, 1952, in Mississippi County, MO, to O.V. and Dorothy Louise McAfee Coffer. She graduated from Charleston High School and went on to become a License Practical Nurse for over 30 years. She was a Triage Nurse for Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO, until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Cape Girardeau, MO.
On February 15, 1986, she married Michael Lee Duke, who survives of the home.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughter Terrie (Ken) Greenwood of Rogersville, Alabama; two step children, Michele Shirrell and Brendan Duke; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her brother, Herman (Kay) Coffer of Sikeston, MO.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Dogwood Cemetery. Brother Joe McCullough of Murray Lane Baptist Church of Sikeston will officiate.
