Floyd Paul Duncan, Jr., age 81, of Morehouse, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born April 30, 1942, at Gray Ridge, MO, to the late Floyd Paul Duncan, Sr., and Anna Laura Brown Duncan, he had lived in Morehouse most of his life. Never one to shy of hard work, Floyd worked as a young man picking cotton, up to 250 pounds a day. He then on to become a commercial truck driver having worked for Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Bunny Bread many years. He later worked for Dan Jennings Fertilizer Company. He loved to fish and do yards. He was a member of the First Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse.
On September 17, 1959, he married Elsie Mae Simpson, who preceded him in death February 28, 2020.
Surviving are his children, Jimmy Wayne (Sandra Joyce) Duncan, Kenneth Ray Duncan and Carla Jean (Winfred Raymond) Whitley; his grandchildren, Jimmy Dewayne (Laurinda) Duncan, Candi (Keith) Chappells, James (Kristy) Whitley, Thomas (Paula) Whitley, Dylan (MaKenzie) Duncan and Dalton Duncan; great grandchildren, Chandler Duncan, Cambrie Duncan, Caden Duncan, Devin Whitley, Anna Whitley, Alenna (Kyler) Seabaugh, Sherri Hayes, Jackie (Cassidy) Hayes, III, Dylan Hunter Duncan and Angela Jane Duncan; his great great grandchild, Laney Mae Seabaugh; sisters and brothers, Peggy Joyce Duncan, Rev. Billy (Lynn) Duncan, Richard (Linda Sue) Duncan and Luther Wayne Duncan; also a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Angela Kay Duncan, and his brother and sisters, Esther Lee Zook, Jane Hicks, Judith Ritchie and Ralph Duncan
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the First Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse. Pastor Jimmy Vent will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Dewayne Duncan, James Whitley, Devin Whitley, Thomas Whitley, Dylan Duncan and Dalton Duncan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Duncan, Jackie Hayes, III, and Hunter Duncan.
