Forrest H. Guiling

October 6, 1947 — May 12, 2017

FORREST H. GUILING, age 69, a resident of Scott County, north of Diehlstadt, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 6, 1947 in Sikeston to H.H. and Glenna Halbrook Guiling who preceded him in death. He had lived in Scott County his entire life where he farmed, was an avid horse trader, tack dealer, and licensed auctioneer for the quad state area (MO, IL, KY, TN).

In November 1973 he married Gail E. Garrett who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Shawn Guiling of Cape Girardeau and Justin (Jennie) Guiling of Franklin, TN; two sisters, Laquita McCulloch of Desloge and Shelby Hurley of Portageville; and one grandson, Conner Guiling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ladora Quertermous.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Rev. Mitch Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John McCulloch, Steve McCulloch, Perry Hurley, Parrish Hurley, Travis Quertermous, Scott Quertermous, and Chris Ray.
