Obituary

Frances Marie Alexander, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Feb. 13, 1925 in Sikeston to the late Porter and Mary (Stafford) Duff. A lifelong resident of Sikeston, she was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church on Smith Street and had been co-owner an operator with her late husband of the Sikeston Singer Sewing Center and the Dairy Queen until her retirement in 1987. She married Charles Warren Alexander in 1946 and he preceded her in death Nov. 30, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Duff and one sister, Mary Noles. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Patsy Alexander of Sikeston; 2 brothers, George Duff of Scott City and Thomas Duff of Sikeston; and 1 sister, Wanda Robbins of Winchester, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be from 1 pm until time for services at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Her cousin, Rev. Lois McRill, pastor of 1st United Methodist Church at Bertrand will officiate and burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
