FRANCES JEAN McDERMOTT BARBOREK, age 86, of Sikeston, died Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born May 1, 1934, in Mississippi County, Missouri to the late Bausy Houston McDermott and Luella Byrd McDermott and lived in Mississippi County most of her life before moving to Sikeston in 1998.   For over 25 years she was employed with Burkart Foam in Cairo.   A member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, she was also a member of the Ladies auxiliary in Charleston.

She was first married to Calvis M. Wright, who preceded her in death.   She then married Henry F. Barborek, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Calvis Allen Wright of St. Louis; Kathy Coney of Henderson, KY and Alma Jane Talley of Wickliffe, KY; also, a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Vernon Houston "Bud" McDermott, Donnie McDermott, Herman McDermott, James Edward McDermott and Gary McDermott and her sisters, LaVern Hammers, Joan Cossey Shands, Mary Jane Eggers and Virginia Riles.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Todd Price, Doyle Price, Eugene Frye, Eddie Grooms, T.W. McDermott, David McDermott, Wesley McDermottt and Travis McDermott.
