FRANCES EVELYN REEVES GOLDIS, Age 84, a resident of Bertrand Nursing Facility and formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born October 14, 1926, in Deventer, Missouri, to the late Oda Augusta and Mittie Lee Parker Reeves. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston and had attended the Christian College for two years and graduated from Missouri University.
Frances was interested in the arts. She was a fine pianist, and artist, and enjoyed planting and growing flowers. She sang cheerfully, and brought cheer to those around her. Frances was a loving mother and sister.
Surviving are: one son, Eric William Reeves of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Byron Lee "Barney" Reeves of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Al Stotts (Mildred) Burnett and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Morgan both of Charleston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Odie Scott Reeves, James Marshall "Racehorse" Reeves, Charles Frank Reeves and Joseph Marvin "Tud" Reeves.
The family will have a private visitation.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
