FRANCES TIPPY HUGHES, Age 81, a resident of Charleston, died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at the Charleston Manor.
The daughter of the late Francis "Frank" Hughes and Frances Marie Burns Hughes, she was born July 14, 1934. Tippy as she was locally known, was a 1952 graduate of St. Henry High School in Charleston. After high school, Tippy attended Mount St. Scholastica College for Women in Atchison, Kansas, where she studied secretarial science. She received her degree in 1956 and went to work for the Heller Ehrman Law Firm in San Francisco, California, as a legal secretary, where she spent her entire working career.
Private burial will be on the Burns Family Plot at the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
