GARY RAYMOND 'BUNNY' BURTON, Age 64, a resident of Marion, Arkansas and formerly of Charleston, MO, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN., following a long hard battle with prostate and bone cancer.
Born July 28, 1948, in Rural Charleston, MO, to the late A.J. and Jewell Garrett Burton, he was a 1966 graduate of Charleston High School. A member of the First Baptist Church of Marion, Arkansas, he had been employed with the Implement Sales Company of Memphis, TN for 23 years until the company sold and at that time he became an independent sales representative for Orthman Manufacturing Company for 21 years along with McFarlane Manufacturing Company for 15 years. He made many good friends and had good customers that remained loyal.
On July 2, 1966, he married Teresa Fowler, and she survives of the home at Marion, Arkansas.
Gary was a devout husband and father who had many friends and helped many people.
Surviving besides his wife of 46 years are one daughter and son in law, Melissa and William Gray of Marion, Arkansas. He is also survived by his best friend and associate, Jeff Bonds of Hernando, Mississippi.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, A.J. (Jay) Burton.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Travis Watson, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: William Gray, John McCoy, Jeff Bonds, Curtis Crisp, William Orthman and Justin Troudt.
