Gary Wayne Rodgers, 62, died Friday, Jan 10, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau. He was born March 4, 1951 in Sikeston to the late Earl R. Rodgers and Nellie Elizabeth "Betty" (Bizzell) Rodgers Grissom. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam Era, he later worked at a power plant in Florida. He was married May 25, 1989 to Karen Pennington in Homestead, FL and she survives of Port St. Lucie, FL. Also surviving are 1 son and daughter-in-law, Caleb & Debbie Rodgers of Lutz, FL; 2 daughters, Carrie Brown of Ft. Meyers, FL and Katherine Rodgers of Port St. Lucie; one brother, John Rodgers of Sikeston and 1 sister, Debra Arms of Sikeston. A memorial service will be planned for a later date at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
