Gayla Irene Baker, age 67, formerly of Scott City, MO, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Jackson, MO.
Born July 18, 1958, in Oakland, CA, to the late Eugene Hunsaker and Lillian Noble Hunsaker, she had lived in Southeast Missouri for a number of years. Gayla loved the Lord, and often cited her favorite verse of scripture, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Gayla loved knitting, sewing and quilting, but especially loved her girls, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Melody (Danny) Little of Jackson, MO; Monica Daniels of High Ridge, MO and Barbi (Jon) Cooper of Benton, MO; her grandchildren, Cody Little, Jordan Little, John Little, Jacob Little, Bobby Little, Trey Anglin, Molly Anglin, Logan Anglin, Noah Anglin, Levi Johnson and Ethan DeSpain; ten great grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Pierce of Martinez, CA and Linda Metcalf of Cape Girardeau, MO; also, her best friend, Gail Ing and a dear friend Ronnie Daniels.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
