Riley Eugene "Gene" Hampton, 57, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.  He was born April 5, 1960 in Sikeston to Mary Elizabeth (Northern) Hampton who survives of Sikeston and the late Riley Junior Hampton.  A resident of this area most of his life, he was a painter and contractor with Hampton Painting and Dry-Wall, a member of Henry Meldrum Post of the American Legion and a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Chapter #3319 in Sikeston.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by the mother of his children, Donna (Dirickson) Smith of Sikeston and the stepmother of his children Linda Harris of Cape Girardeau; 2 daughters, Nikesha and Chris Holt of Sikeston and Natasha Hampton-Ganus of Matthews; 1 step-son, J. J. Morin of Blodgett; 2 brothers, Richard Hampton of Sikeston and Danny Hampton of Paducah; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Kelly of Sikeston and Janie Lee of Dexter and 5 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Jimmy Wayne Hampton.  Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 11:00 am until time for services at 1:00 pm.  Rev. John McHaffie, pastor of First Assembly od God Church will officiate and burial will follow at New Morley Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Joshua Hampton, Caleb Hampton, Kyle Hampton, Gary Davis, Travis Cummins and Garrett Senn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rickie Kelly and Ross Ganus.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
