Bobbie Eugene Laster of Wickliffe, KY, passed away February 17, 2019, at Life Care Center in LaCenter, KY.
Gene was born on July 10, 1931, in Crosno, Missouri, to the late John Raymond and Martha Burns Laster. Gene spent several years working for Koch Oil Company before he and his wife Dorothy became successful entrepreneurs in 1983 when they built Indian Hills Trading Post convenient store in Wickliffe, KY.
Mr. Laster also known as big Gene, mean Gene and Pappie had a passion for the outdoors and has left his sons with many wonderful memories of fishing and hunting. He will be greatly missed.
He was married to Dorothy Tatum Laster, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Ronnie Laster of Kevil, KY, Dan Laster of Paris, TN and Michael Laster of Kevil, KY.; one sister, Gloria Faye Chaney of Marble Hill, MO; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren & several great grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Laster and four brothers, Roy R. Laster, Curtis E. Laster, Bernard L. Laster and Kenneth Laster.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, MO. Dean Wallace will officiate.
Private Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
