Geneva Forrest, 80, formerly of Sikeston, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at Close to Home Care Center in Matthews. She was born Jan. 19, 1934 in Cannie, Oklahoma to the late James & Nova (Rolland) Dufur. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of the Life Church. On Nov. 16, 1951 she was married to Benson P. Forrest in Piggott, Ark. and he preceded her in death March 2, 2012. She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law: Benson J. and Jackie Forrest of Lexington, Ky.; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law: Angelia & Jimmy Sloan of Sikeston and Toleitha Forrest of Sikeston.; 2 brothers, Bill Dufur of Moline, Il and Jerry Dufur of Port Byron, Il.; and 3 sisters, Irene Crowden and Ruby Hughes both of Sikeston and Jimmie Blaise of East Moline, Il. Seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Albrie Forrest,, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 12 noon Tuesday, Dec. 30 until time for services at 2:00 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Craig, pastor of the Life Church officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Clinton, Larry McRoy, Bobby Himes, Brandon Parker, Kenneth Heaton and Randy Eskew. Honorary pallbearer will be Maurice West.
