Geneva Farmer Freeman, age 89, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home in Sikeston, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 31, 1935, at Harrison, AR to the late Simon David Farmer and Tilda Caroline Smith Farmer but had lived in Sikeston most of her life.  No stranger to hard work, for many years she was employed at the International Shoe Company, Anchor Toy Factory and the Brown Shoe Company but spent most of her working career at National Lock where she was known as "Granny Freeman".   She had attended the Seven Day Adventist Church in Sikeston and was a member of the Sikeston Eagles Club for many years.

On August 11, 1952, she married Charles Omer Freeman, who preceded her in death on October 29, 1983.

Surviving is her son, Terry Lee Freeman of Sikeston; her daughters, Delores Diane Appleton, Donna Kay Robinson and Teresa Gail (Randy) Western all of Sikeston; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth Dean Freeman and Charles Allen Freeman, her daughter, Linda Faye Freeman; her great grandson, Roland Zane Allen; her brothers, Walter Farmer, Delbert Farmer, William "Bill" Farmer and Oather Greenhaw and her sister, Genetta Riley.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. John McHaffie, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Casket bearers will be Michael Freeman, Jeremy Freeman, Josh Freeman, Tray Rapert, Kenneth Western and Gene Masters.
