Genna Ve Wallace Brown, age 88, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her home in Fairdealing, MO.

Born September 14, 1936, at Pope County, AR., to the late Lonnie Washington Wallace and Idelle Huggins Wallace, she had lived in Mississippi County from 1946 to 1992.   A graduate of Diehlstadt High School, she worked at Wyatt Elementary School and later for Dr. Alouise Fenton.   She graduated from the Sikeston Public Schools LPN program in 1970 and retired from Chaffee General Hospital in 1987.

On January 14, 1954, she married the love of her life, Harold Franklin Brown, who preceded her in death September 21, 2021.

She is survived by her children, Franklin Wallace (Deborah) Brown and Sarah Brown (Adam) Wilson; her sisters, Joyce Davis and Nancy (Harold) Goyins; her brother, Larry (Pat) Wallace; her grandchildren, Suzanne Berry (Bradley) Hampton and Genna Faith Brown (James) Kuban; her great grandchildren, Morgan Hampton, Cole Hampton, Nash Kuban and Lucy Jo Kuban; also, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lonna Irene Belk, Juanita Wallace and Loretta Magee.

Genna gave her heart to Jesus while a young girl and was baptized in Brewers Lake in rural Mississippi County, Missouri. She then became a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church.  She is currently a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Wappapello, Missouri.

Family and friends may assemble at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery for graveside services.

Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
