George N. Hubbard, Sr., 91, a resident of the Sikeston area most of his life, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born November 13, 1926 in Clay County, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Clydia (Flanigan) Hubbard. He had been an auto mechanic and Heating & Air Conditioning Serviceman, was of the Pentecostal faith and was a former member of several bowling leagues. He was married to Eufella Charlene Andrew on June 10, 1945 in Sikeston and she preceded him in death Nov. 5, 1988. He is survived by 1 son, George N. Hubbard, Jr. of Bell City; 4 daughters, Barbara & Billy Heuring, Betty Eastep, Wanda & Walter Hyde, Sr. and Alice & Maxie Schreiber all of Sikeston; 1 brother, Eddie Rickenbecker Hubbard of Newberg, TN; and 2 sisters, Lillian Jenkins of Sikeston and Shirley Noggle of Beebe, Ark. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 1 sister, 1 grandson and 1 great-grandson. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 11 am until time for services at 1:00 pm. His son-in-law, Rev. Maxie Schreiber and his grandson Jason Schreiber will officiate and burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jason Schrieiber, Joey Heuring, Greg Heuring, Darrell Heuring, Walter Hyde, Jr. and Ryan Hubbard.
