GERALD DOUGLAS SUMMERS, II, Age 21, a resident of Sikeston, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Born August 20, 1995, in St. Louis, MO, to the Jerry Lee Summers who survives of Sikeston and Damon McCluney who survives of Cape Girardeau, he had lived in Sikeston most of his life and was a 2014 graduate of Sikeston High School. He was currently serving in the Missouri National Guard , was a member of the American Legion in Sikeston and was employed with Unilever in Sikeston. To know him was to love him, as he loved to make people laugh and enjoy life.
Besides his mother and father, he is survived by three brothers, Nicholas Wayne Summers-Welter of Sikeston, Trevonn McCluney of Charleston and Qadry Allen of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Tyler-Raye Cheyenne Summers of Sikeston, Taviunna Allen, Ariel Allen and Zakaila Allen all of Cape Girardeau; his grandparents, Gerald Douglas Summers of Sikeston; Pat (Robert) Tilley of Bloomfield, Theresa McCluney of Kansas City, KS and Barbara and Jack Murray of rural Charleston; great grandmother, Nannie Mae Williams of Kansas City, KS; his special father figure, Jamie Hamilton of St. Joseph, MO; also a number of aunts, uncles and cousins survive.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Norval and Ruby Summers Johnson; George M. Summers and Virginia Nance Manker and Kenneth Toombs.
The Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Private memorial services and interment will follow at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Sam Maddox, Garren Maddox, Andrew Mitchell, Joey Brewer and Jamie Hamilton.
