She was born March 23, 1939 in Charleston to Harry S. and Geneva Greer Finley. A graduate of Charleston High School, she fell naturally into the life of a farmer's wife after her marriage to Albert V. Goodin, IV on November 12, 1960. Her love and care for her family was first in her life, followed by her love and commitment to her church. As a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, Gladys Jane served unselfishly wherever she was needed; as a member of the Adult Choir, the Lydia Group (formerly WMU), pastor search committee, nominating committee, Samaritan's Purse project, Vacation Bible School worker and Sunday School teacher. Once her sons were raised, she attended Southeast Missouri State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1987. She was employed as an internal auditor at Montgomery Bank (formerly First National Bank) for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Molly French Garden Club and Chapter CV P.E.O., serving as treasurer for both organizations for several years,

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Albert V. Goodin, V of Charleston and Harry F. (Ann) Goodin of Fishers, IN; two brothers, Michael (Glenda) Finley of Brentwood, TN and Gary (Susan) Finley of South Daytona, FL; two sisters, June (Al) Drinkwater of Charleston and Diane (Vearl) Caid of Ponca City, OK; and two grandchildren, Emmalyn (Eric) Ader of Sheridan, IN and Patrick Finley Goodin of Fishers, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Andrew Kerr Goodin.
