Gladys Helen "Granny" Taylor, 88, died Friday Feb. 19 at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. She was born June 22, 1927 at Micola, MO to the late General Lee and Mary Pearl (Heathcoat) Smith. She was married to Columbus Roscoe "Ross" Taylor April 7, 1949 in Oran and he preceded her in death April 14, 1998. She had worked at the Sikeston Rescue Mission and was a Pioneer member of Smith Avenue Church of God since 1954. She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law; Willie Marie and Eddie Gates, Mary Helen Brown, and Connie Lou and Larry Chaney all of Sikeston. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by one grandson, 1 brother and 1 sister. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 until 8 pm Monday, Feb 22 and then from 11 am until 1:00 pm Tuesday at Smith Avenue Church of God. The funeral will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the church with Rev. Ira Sandefer, the pastor officiating and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
