Glenda Hutchinson Wren

Glenda Ellen Wren, age 88, formerly of Charleston, MO, died Saturday, May 6, 2023, at her home in Ocala, FL.

Born May 5, 1935, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Thomas Granville Hutchinson and Ellen Marie Cruson Hutchinson, she had lived in Charleston most of her life until moving to Florida to be near her daughter and family.

Glenda was a devoted mother and grandmother but foremost a Christian. She spent her entire life devoted to serving Jesus and her family. She was an accomplished singer, songwriter, preacher, counselor and teacher.

On December 27, 1951, she married James E. Wren, who preceded her in death May 22, 1985.

Surviving are her children, Dennis Wren of Fenton, Cindy Frailey of Benton, David Wren of Benton, Darrell Wren of Yukon, OK, Jennifer Garner of Ocala, FL; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; also, a number of other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James T. Wren; her great granddaughter, Alexis Jenkins and one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
