Obituary

GLENN EDITH SWOPE PINKERTON, Age 72, of Sikeston, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, MO, following an extended illness.

Born June 10, 1950, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Roy McVay Swope and Anna Bell McElreath Swope Bohnert, she grew up in rural Scott County and was the salutatorian of the 1968 graduating class of Kelly High School. Glenn Edith had been employed as an executive secretary for 20 years with Noranda Aluminum until her retirement. Having lived most of her life in Sikeston, she was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the St. Francis Church Ladies auxiliary.

On June 30, 1968, she married Glenn A. Pinkerton, who survives of the home.

Also surviving is her son, Troy A. Pinkerton (Geri Fick) of Jefferson City; her grandchildren, Cade Pinkerton, Chance Pinkerton, Case Pinkerton and Lara Eden Pinkerton; her great grandson, Duke Lemmel Phillips; her brother, Danny Lee (Tina) Grogan, of Patton, MO; also, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Leda Jo Wagner and Anna Darline Swope.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston with the pastor, Rev. Colby Elbert, serving as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Cade Pinkerton, Chance Pinkerton and Case Pinkerton; nephews, Chris Pinkerton and Blake Pinkerton and family friend, Steve Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Eden Pinkerton, Ginger Wessling, Paula McClain, Edie Jo Partain, Megan Anderson, Dan Lape and J.W. White.

In lieu of flowers, plants and gift items, the family kindly requests memorial gifts be made to the St. Francis Ladies Auxiliary, 245 West Front Street, Sikeston, MO 63801
