GRACIE ERNESTINE COLE SHAW, Age 83, a resident of Poplar Bluff, MO, died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Oak Dale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Born, September 15, 1934, at Bauxite, AR, to the late James William Cole and Minnie Marie Reasons Cole, she had lived in Poplar Bluff the last few years where she attended the Church of God. She was employed with Rawlings Sporting Goods, Bussman Fuse, International Shoe Company and then the Brown Shoe Company, retiring in 1994. An avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan, she attended her first game in 1955.
On May 20, 1961, she married William J. Shaw, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2003.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Gracie Denice and James William Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA and Billie Mae and Bob Jines of St. Charles, MO; one sister, Lois Richey of Benton, AR; six grandchildren, Kellie (Mike) Kloess, Cory (Jill) Jines, Rebekah Smith, Jordan Smith, Austin Smith and Shawn Smith; 5 great grandchildren, Katalyn Kloess, Carley Kloess, Luke Jines, Landon Jines and Lexi Jines.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleveland Cole, Lloyd Cole and David Cole and by four sisters, Alice Polly, Anne Belle Cole, Ruth Cash and Adina Webb.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Charles Armstrong, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
