Harley Eugene Gaskins Sr.

March 21, 1947 – August 28, 2023

Harley Eugene Gaskins Sr., age 76, of Vanduser, MO died Monday, August 28, 2023, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born March 21, 1947 in Wardell, Missouri, to the late Oscar Gaskins and Lula Brown Gaskins.  Harley lived in Southeast Missouri his entire life and was a farmer.  He was a great and kind man, who would help even a stranger and enjoyed deer hunting with his boys.

He is survived by his partner of 43 years, Carla Newton of the home; six children, Harley Eugene Jr. (Terra) Gaskins of Matthews, MO; Tonya Gaskins of Matthews, MO; Travis Newton of Vanduser, MO; Steven Gaskins of Sikeston, MO; Brian Gaskins of Vanduser, MO; and Jonathan Gaskins of Vanduser, MO; three sisters, Betty Sharp of Park Hills, MO; Inez Gaskins of Wardell, MO and Ruby Wilhito of Texas; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, five sisters, Doris Newton, Kathryn Townson, Lillie Howell, Lottie Garrett and Judy White and 3 brothers, James Gaskins, Gary Gaskins and Roydell Gaskins.

A private service will be held at a later date.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
