HAROLD F. BROWN, age 90, of Wappapello, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 2, 1930, at Dell, Arkansas, to the late Wallace F. Brown and Vera Houston Brown.  Harold retired in 1988 after 35 years from Martin Marietta Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Paducah, KY., He served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years, serving as a deacon at Wyatt Baptist Church and as a Sunday school teacher at Little Brushy Baptist Church in Wappapello.  He was a current member of the New Life Baptist Church in Wappapello.

On January 14, 1954, Harold married the love of his life, Genna Ve Wallace, at Wyatt, and she survives of the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Franklin W. (Debbie) Brown of Lenoir City, TN and Sarah Brown (Adam) Wilson of De Valls Bluff, AR; his grandchildren, Suzanne (Brad) Hampton of Fair Dealing, MO; Genna Faith (James) Kuban of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Morgan Hampton, Cole Hampton, Nash Kuban and Lucy Jo Kuban; brothers and sisters, Wanda Cogdill and Justin (Linda) Brown of East Prairie and Larry (Judy) Brown of Charleston; also, a number of nephews, nieces and cousins survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin Brown and Mark Brown and his sisters, June Leffler, Betty Carrington and Connie Riley.

Harold will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we celebrate the fact that he is now walking on the streets of gold with his Heavenly Father.

Family visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Friends are invited to join the family at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston for graveside services. Rev. Don Slatton, will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
