Obituary

HAROLD GLEN HOLLIS, 92, a resident of Sikeston, died Friday, August 7, 2020, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born June 14, 1928, at Gray Ridge, MO, to the late Thomas Wesley Hollis and Gladys Genevive Carr Hollis, he was a US Army Veteran and went on to serve in the Naval Reserve. After his military service, he settled in Anderson, IN and took a position with the Container Corporation of America where he worked until he retired in 1990.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the US Steel Worker's Union and loved to travel and golf.  In 2002, he and his wife, Martha, returned to Southeast Missouri and Settled in Sikeston and Miner area.

On July 4, 1951, he married Martha Lee Rapert, who preceded him in death, April 21, 2008.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Clendinin and Flora Mae Atkison, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Wesley Hollis and his sister, Helen Marcella Council.

Military graveside rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
