HARVEY LEE GASKINS, Sr., age 79, died December 22, 2020, at his home in Charleston.

Born September 5, 1941, at Wardell, MO, to the late Earl Harvey Gaskins and Helen McClung Gaskins, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He had worked in farming and was an avid fisherman. He was of Baptist belief.

Surviving are his children, David (Ruby) Gaskins of Olmstead, IL; Harvey Lee (Suzanne) Gaskins, Jr., of Karnak, IL; Stacey (Kitty) Gaskins of Lebanon, MO; Jacob ( Mandy ) Shue of Springfield, MO; Kevin (Tiffany) Vinson of Walnut Grove,  MO; Jo Ann Gaskins Seals of East Prairie; Connie (David) Stigall of Wickliffe, KY; Sheila Kaye Brewer of East Prairie; Teresa (Shawn) Box of Cairo, IL; Melissa, Shue of Fort Myers, FL; Jerry Lee (J.R.) Summers-Rains of Sikeston; his niece, Barbara Dye Taylor; one honorary son, Eugene Earnheart of Charleston; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Jean Gaskins and his brother, Lonnie Dye.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment with military honors will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery near Brosley.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
