HARVEY ELDON WASHER, Age 74, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at his home in Benton.
Born February 27, 1940, at Charleston, MO, to the late Charles Pope Washer and Mattie Barber Washer, he had lived in Southeast Missouri most of his life having grown up at Alfalfa Center in Mississippi County. He had been employed as a mechanic for farm machinery. A talented musician, he played guitar for the "Goldtones", having played throughout the country.
On June 18, 1999, he married Sharon Walker, who survives of the home in Benton.
Also surviving are two sons, Ralph Temple and Robbie Washer both of Cape Girardeau; eight daughters, Barbie Bucheit of Chaffee, Lisa Anderson of East Prairie, Teresa Hale of Anniston, Misty Gonzales of Charleston, Rebecca McCurdy and Crystal Garner of Yukon, OK, Jodie Walker of Bell City and Diana Walker of St. Louis; one brother, Doug Washer of Independence, MO, and one sister, Connie Damron of Murray, KY; 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Washer and Donald Patterson and by one grandson, Joshua Lee Hale and two granddaughters, Laci Deanne Washer and Chelsi Leanne Washer.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the Unity Baptist Church near Benton. Rev. Dennis Lowe, pastor will officiate.
Private burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be: Ricky, Brandon, Donna, Josh, Jeff, John, Gabriel, Corey, Chuck and Craig.
