Obituary

HARVIE LEE JACKSON, Age 98, a resident of East Prairie, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the Charleston Manor.

Born February 11, 1917, in Casey County, KY, to the late Rev. W.E. Jackson and Mary Etta Bell Jackson, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston where he had served as a Deacon and Usher a number of years and was also a member of the Farm Bureau.

On March 25, 1937, he married Dorothy Craddock, who preceded him in death February 28, 2006.

Surviving are three daughters and one son in law, Barbara Chapman and Janice (Jimmy) Nolen of Bertrand and Ruth Watson of Charleston; one brother, E. Paul Jackson of Charleston; 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren; also a number of other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons in law, Jack Chapman and Billy G. Watson; one great grandson, Micah Givens and one grandson in law, Robbie Rollins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bruce Chapman, Brice Chapman, William Watson, Darrell Watson, Dennis Cox and great grandson, Christopher Chapman.
