Helen Louise Isbell Achter, age 76, of East Prairie, MO, died Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Aspire Senior Living Center in East Prairie.
Born January 26, 1949, in Mississippi County, MO, to late Sherman Obannon Isbell and Lillian Beatrice Donaldson Isbell, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life. For a number of years she was employed with Brown Shoe Company in Charleston and the War Drum Café in Sikeston. She was of Pentecostal Belief.
She was married to Jack Achter who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sisters, Minnie Isbell Garrett, Etta Isbell Vinson and Mary Isbell, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Raymond Lee Norman and Alvin Ray Norman; and her brothers, Sherman, Thomas, Cecil and Robert and her sister, Earlene Casey.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, MO.
Graveside services will immediately follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
