Obituary

HELEN LOUELLA CHANDLER EZZELL, age 79, a resident of Bertrand died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born October 16, 1935 in Caraway, AR to Joel C. and Martha Ernestine House Chandler. A graduate of Charleston High School, where she participated in girls basketball and softball, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she farmed with her husband and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bertrand. Her free time passion was fishing, spending several months a year at Lake Livingston, TX with friends, in particular Raymond and Margaret Morrow. She developed a love of golf, a game she enjoyed for over 30 years along with owning and operating the Charleston Country Club Pro Shop.

On April 8, 1953 she married James H. Ezzell who preceded her in April 17, 2005.

Surviving are three daughters, Dianne L. Priest of Cameron, Janie L. (Derek) Wheeler of Sikeston, and Susan (Kevin) White of Bertrand; four grandchildren, Colin J. Priest, Elana S. (Andy) Bryant, Daniel K. (Kaitlyn) White, and Gabe C. Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Mary Stella Bryant and James A. Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dody Hook, Jimmie J. Chandler, and Beverly Stark, and nieces, Angel Schweiger and Cindy Kennedy.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with Graveside services scheduled at 11:30 a.m. in the IOOF Cemetery. Janie Young, Kevin White and Dennis Quertermous will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel White, Gabe Wheeler, Colin Priest, Derek Wheeler, Kevin White, and Andy Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis and JoAnn Quertermous, Margaret Morrow, and the Charleston and Sikeston Ladies Golf Association.
