Homer Lee King, Jr., 89, a resident of this area most of his life, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau. He was born July 21, 1925 at Augusta, Arkansas to the late Homer L., Sr. and Blanche Ann (Pate) King. He had been a farmer and salesman at Jarvis Motor Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Morley. He was married to Marie H. Hicks March 13, 1955 at Hernando, Mississippi and she preceded him in death March 17, 2008. He is survived by one daughter, Beth Church of the home in Morley, two grandchildren, Emily Church and Clay (Amy) Church and 1 great granddaughter Ella Church all of Cape Girardeau; and 1 brother, Johnny King of Sikeston. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel Tuesday, March 24 from 11 am until time for services at 1:00 pm with David Thompson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Morley officiating. Burial will follow at Sikeston City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Abernathy, Denny Alcorn, Danny Crotts, Tony Dell, Ray Schoaf and Jim Wade and C.D. Alcorn will be honorary pallbearer.
